Bradgate Pre-School is owned and governed by Eastfield Primary School, Thurmaston. We are based in a modern purpose built family centre in the school grounds. The pre-school has it’s own enclosed, well equipped outdoor play area. We were graded as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted in 2015. This registration is subject to regular inspection and requires the pre-school to meet The Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework and Welfare Requirements. The staff at Bradgate Pre-School believe that education for Pre-School children should be provided in an environment that is safe, happy, relaxed and above all caring. Where learning is made fun and everyone is valued and accepted.

There are four permanent members of staff all with recognised childcare and development qualifications.
Curriculum
Our aim is for each child to develop to the best of their ability. The curriculum has been planned using guidelines issued by the Department for Education, to enable each child to make maximum progress towards the goals set out in these guidelines. Our key worker system ensures that the needs of each child are identified and planned for within the curriculum. A wide variety of activities are used to enable your child to learn through play and have fun at the same time.
Preparing for school
Close links with Eastfield School will provide benefits for your child in preparing for school.
- We liaise regularly with the Early Years Co-ordinator to ensure that the education we provide is equipping each child with the skills necessary to begin Keystage 1 of the National Curriculum.
- Your child will have regular opportunities to visit the main school building and grounds, and will be familiar with the surroundings when he/she joins the reception class.
- If your child has Special Educational Needs, liaison with the school’s S.E.N.Co-ordinator can take place to ensure that your child’s needs are prepared for as they move into school.
- Your child’s education will have continuity from the age of 2 ½ to eleven years.
