Headteachers Message 9th July 2021

Dear Parent and Carer,

We have made it. The holidays are here. After a year of lockdowns, bubbles, remote learning, home schooling, key worker groups, teams calls, online handwriting, my maths, white rose maths and Joe Wicks keep fit PE lessons we have some how made it through to the summer holiday.

What a year it has been!

Your children have been an absolute credit to you. They have adapted so well to all the changes. They are now experts at chatting in Teams, uploading work, managing their time and reviewing their own learning. The downside for them, of course, has been that they have missed their friends.

No number of online lessons can make up for time outside playing and chatting with a group of friends and just being a child.

I’d like to say thank you to you all. You are by far the nicest group of parents and families I have had the pleasure to work with and your understanding and patience over the last 4 terms has been very much appreciated.

I think Eastfield is lucky to have you and your children.

Mr Gilbert is really looking forward to coming and being your headteacher. He has so many ideas of things he would like to do and I know that your opinions and ideas matter to him too.

I think I am leaving the school and your children in the care of a super team.

Mr Gilbert will be in touch with you all over the holiday to update you on the start of term. The staff will return to school on 23rd August but the childrens first day is 25th August.

I hope you all have a lovely, sun filled summer break and take some time to rest and spend time with your family.

Take care and keep safe,

Kind regards,

Ms Ellis
